Teenager Shot In Lancaster, Investigation Underway

LANCASTER, S.C. — An investigation is underway after a teenager was shot in Lancaster Sunday morning, according to the police department.

Authorities say the teenage victim was walking down Elm Street, near the intersection at South Main Street, around 11 a.m. when he heard someone call his name. The victim was then shot.

The teenager then ran to a nearby business, where he was assisted by the owner and driven to MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center.

The victim was transferred to another nearby medical facility, where he was treated for his injury and released the same day, police said.

This incident is under investigation by the Lancaster Police Department and members of the Multijurisdictional Violent Crime Task Force.
