Unsettled Week Ahead With Much Cooler Temperatures

Expect on and off rain chances through the week.

A cold front will cross the area Monday evening and stall to our south. Pluses of energy will ride along the front which will bring us on and off rain chance through the week. A strong cold front will cross the region early Saturday bringing snow to the mountains and a widespread freeze to the area.

RAIN:
Rain coverage will be on and off through the week. The most widespread rain comes late Tuesday through Wednesday. Coverage will then be scattered Thursday before turning numerous to widespread late Friday into early Saturday. Rain totals will be between 1-3” with isolated higher totals. Localized flooding in poor drainage and low lying areas is possible through the week.

TEMPERATURES:
Tuesday will be a transition day with temperatures near average – in the mid 60s. Wednesday and Thursday turn much cooler with highs only in the low to mid 50s. Highs Friday will be closer to average again ahead of a strong cold front. Cold temperatures build in Saturday night into Sunday morning with a widespread hard freeze expected. Low temperatures will bottom out in the mid 20s.
