On & Off Widespread Rain Continues Through The First Half Of Wednesday

Cooler temperatures expected on Wednesday and Thursday

Discussion:
The front that crossed the area Monday evening has stalled to our south. It will lift northward this afternoon and evening which will bring rain back to the area. Showers will be widespread this evening through the first half of Wednesday. The rain coverage decreases late Wednesday with only a few showers possible on Thursday. A stronger front will move through very late Friday into early Saturday bringing rain to the Piedmont, snow to the mountains, gusty winds and much cooler temperatures. We wake up to low temperatures in the 20s on Sunday morning. Our 5-day rainfall totals are 1-3”.

TONIGHT:
Rain. Patchy Fog. Lows near 50 degrees. Winds: E 5-10.

WEDNESDAY:
Widespread rain through the first half of the day. Rain tapering off late in the afternoon. The severe weather risk will stay to our south and east. Expect slightly cooler temperatures with highs in the upper 50s.

THURSDAY:
Widely scattered showers. Below average temperatures with highs in the low to mid 50s.

FRIDAY:
Not a bad day! Warmer with highs in the mid 60s. Rain increases late in the evening.

WEEKEND:
Saturday AM a strong cold front will push through bringing showers to the Piedmont, snow to the Mountains, windy conditions, and a reinforcing shot of cold air. We only top out in the low 50s on Saturday with clearing through the day. Sunday morning will be very cold with a widespread freeze. Lows bottom out in the 20s. Sunday looks dry and cold with highs in the 50s.
