Deputies: Woman Charged With Trafficking After Selling Meth To Undercover Officer

IREDELL COUNTY– A woman was arrested and charged with trafficking meth after officials say she attempted to sell drugs to an undercover investigator.

On March 8th, 2022, deputies arrested 42-year-old April Humphries after an ongoing drug trafficking investigation, according to a news release from the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

Humphries was previously arrested on February 22, 2022, in Iredell County.  Investigators say during that arrest, she was in possession of multiple prescription drugs and meth.

Following the initial arrest, undercover investigators purchased a felony amount of meth, approximately 34 grams directly from Humphries, according to deputies.

Deputies learned Humphries would be at a gas station off Interstate 77 on March 8th.  Deputies say they took Humphries into custody at the gas station and she was allegedly in possession of approximately 19.1 grams of meth, according to a news release.

Humphries has been charged with the following:

Felony Trafficking by Sell Crystal Methamphetamine
Felony Trafficking by Transportation Crystal Methamphetamine
Felony Trafficking by Possession Crystal Methamphetamine
Two counts Felony Possession with Intent to Sell/Deliver Crystal Methamphetamine
Felony Maintaining a vehicle for the use and/or sale of a Controlled Substance
Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Humphries was taken to the Iredell County detention Center and received a 1,500,000.00 secured bond on all her charges.
