One Dead, Off-Duty Firefighter Injured In Salisbury Shooting

SALISBURY, N.C. — One man is dead and another injured after a Salisbury shooting Thursday morning, according to police.

Officers with the Salisbury Police Department were dispatched to a Sunset Drive home around 8:50 a.m. after receiving a call for service.

Upon arrival, police located two men in the front yard of the home. One man was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and the other man a single gunshot wound, according to police.

Both men were transported to the hospital.

One unidentified man has been pronounced dead by medical officials.

The other victim has been identified as an off-duty Salisbury firefighter, police say.

A homicide investigation is currently underway.
