Deputies Ask For Public’s Help Identifying Lincoln County Fraud Suspects

LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying the people of interest in a fraud case.

An investigation was sparked after detectives were informed that $600 was taken out of a woman’s State Employees Credit Union account Tuesday.

The victim reported to the sheriff’s office that her bank card was taken on Feb. 5 and 9 of 2022.

Both times the card was returned to her purse while she was sleeping. Each time $300 was withdrawn from a Cash Points, located at 756 North Highway 18, in Lincoln County.

According to news release, the victim informed authorities that she allowed two homeless people to live in her residence on Curt Ledford Road in Cleveland County but she did not know their names.
