Police: 4 Men Charged With Murder After Fatal Gaston County Shooting
GASTONIA, N.C. — Gaston County Police have four suspects in custody for their alleged involvement in a shooting Saturday that left one juvenile dead and another injured.
Officers responded to reports of the shooting on Dameron Road around 3:11 p.m.
At the scene, officers found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
One victim died at the scene and the second victim was taken to a local hospital where they underwent emergency surgery, according to a news release.
Police say both victims are juveniles and their identities will not be released.
Shortly thereafter, officers located the suspects who had fled the scene in a car.
All four suspects were taken into custody with incident and charged for their involvement in the shooting.
The four suspects and their charges are as follows:
- Wesley McCullough, 18, is charged with 1st Degree Murder, Attempted 1st Degree Murder, and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.
- Michael Greely, 18, is charged with 1st Degree Murder, Attempted 1st Degree Murder, and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.
- Justin Peebles, 18, is charged with 1st Degree Murder, Attempted 1st Degree Murder, and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.
- Leshantes McDowell, 24, is charged with 1st Degree Murder, Attempted 1st Degree Murder, and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.
Police say all four suspects are currently being held at the Gaston County Jail under a hold pending their first appearance in court.
