Winter Gives Way to Spring

More rain arrives by midweek, but no cold air lurks behind it this time around.

20º this morning in the Queen City is good enough for the second-coldest low we’ve seen so far this year, but temperatures are rounding the corner for this final week of winter. Expect highs to return to the 60s on Monday, as winds out of the southwest bring much comfier conditions to the Carolinas. We’ll see more sunshine than anything else for the next two days, but rain chances return by midweek.

A Gulf-born area of low pressure will ride up the East Coast by Wednesday, bringing clouds and showers to our area. This time around, however, there won’t be any cold air lurking behind it. In fact, temperatures will only continue to warm as we head into the latter half of the week. Highs will likely reach the mid-70s as we head into Saturday before more rain chances return later in the weekend.
