Late Friday Cold Front With A Breezy Saturday

Discussion:
A cold front will move through late Friday into Saturday. This will bring showers and isolated thunderstorms to the area – some rain will be heavy at times through the evening. There is a marginal risk (level 1 out of 5) for isolated strong storms southeast of I-85 early Saturday morning, but once again the greater severe weather threat will be to our south and east – thankfully! We are in store for a breezy Saturday with a high pressure building in for the weekend. This high pressure will stick around for the first half of next week.

Tonight:
A nice and dry evening ahead. Patchy fog will develop overnight and stick around for the Friday morning commute. Overnight lows bottom out near 50 degrees.

Friday:
Morning dense fog. Partly sunny with high temperatures in the low to mid 70s. Increasing clouds through the afternoon. Numerous PM showers with isolated thunderstorms possible. This front will not produce as much rain as the last with forecast rainfall between 0.05”-.25”.

Saturday:
A few storms are possible early in the morning Saturday, but an area of high pressure builds in in wake of the cold front leaving us with a beautiful weekend! Expect a breezy Saturday with wind gusts up to 40 mph possible. High temperatures near 70 degrees.

Sunday:
Sunny skies with high temperatures in the mid to upper 60s.

Next Week:
The high pressure will stick around through the first half of the week leaving us with dry conditions and highs in the 70s. Rain returns to the area mid-week.

Happy St Patrick’s Day!
