Authorities: Clover, S.C. Council Member Arrested For DUI

CLOVER, S.C. — A current member of the Clover Town Council was arrested Friday morning for driving under the influence after a crash.

50-year-old Wesley Blair Spurrier was booked into jail around 3:30 a.m. for a DUI charge, according to information from the York County Detention Center.

Troopers say the crash occurred around 10 p.m. Thursday night.

Spurrier was driving in a Hyundai sedan, when he disregarded a stop sign while trying to make a left turn onto Memorial Drive in Clover, and ran off the right side of the road and hit a curb, according to a news release.

Troopers say Spurrier had one passenger in the car at the time of the wreck, but neither Spurrier or his passenger were injured.
