Pleasant Early Week
The first full official day of spring will be a gorgeous one with temps reaching the low 70 under sunny skies. Dry weather will persist tomorrow, but clouds will begin to fill back in during the day. Temps will climb into the mid-70s.
Wednesday Severe Threat
A strong system will likely bring severe storms to the south-central US today with that threat moving toward the southeast Tuesday. Most of the Carolinas are under a slight (level 2 out of 5) severe threat Wednesday. As of now, it looks like storms will shortly after daybreak through mid-morning and continue through the early afternoon. Damaging wind, hail, and a tornado or two will all be possible with any storms that become severe. If this system arrives any later during peak daytime heating, the severe threat will be greater, so it is something to watch over the next few days.
Late Week to Weekend
A few rounds of scattered showers and a storm or two will be possible through the end of the week with temps mild in the mid-60s to low 70s. Dry and cooler for the weekend with highs struggling to break out of the 50s by Sunday.
