Volunteers Needed For South End Rail Trail Spring Clean Up Event On Saturday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Volunteers are still needed for the first South End Rail Trail Clean Up event of spring this Saturday, March 26th.

Registration is free and will take place in-person anytime between 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the New Bern Light Rail Station.

Keep Charlotte Beautiful will provide all the cleaning supplies, with the actual Rail Trail Clean Up occuring from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.

Officials say following the clean up, The Union will host a Volunteer Appreciation Event beginning at 12 p.m.

This event will celebrate the volunteers’ efforts and prizes will be raffled off from local business sponsors.

Officials say all volunteers over 21-year-old will be given a FREE drink ticket courtesy of South End Social to use at The Union.

In addition, the first 100 volunteers will get a custom event drawstring bag.

Officials say the event is family and pet friendly and will take place rain or shine.

All minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Individuals and small groups will walk at their own pace and clean up litter along the Rail Trail and surround streets.

This event is presented by US Bank, South End, The Union, and South End Social along with corporate sponsors Skufca Law and Terrapin Beer Co.
