Police: Man Found Dead From A Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound After SWAT Standoff In Concord

CONCORD, N.C. — Police and a SWAT team are no longer responding to a barricaded subject incident at a Concord apartment.

Officers, accompanied by a concerned family member, responded to the Summerlin Apartments around 11:24 a.m. to conduct a welfare check on a man in his 60’s.

While in the apartment, officers heard gunshots coming from the rear of the apartment.

Police say this prompted a SWAT team response and the building where the incident was taking place was evacuated.

Shortly after 4 p.m., police announced that the situation had been resolved.

No officers were injured or fired their weapons during this incident.

Police believe the man died due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
