Breezy and Cool Start to the Week

AM Headlines:
  • Near freezing temps to the start the day
  • Breezy, dry & cool Monday
    • Increased Fire Danger 11 am – this evening
  • Warming to the upper 70s Wednesday
  • A strong cold front brings a chance for strong storms Thursday
Temps are near freezing for much of the area this morning. Sunny, but breezy and cool today with highs reaching the low 60s. It won’t be quite as breeze this afternoon as it was this weekend, but with winds out of the NW 10-15 mph and relative humidity levels down to 10-20% there will be an increased fire danger again today. Cooler Thursday with calmer winds. Highs will struggle to break out of the upper 50s. However, a warm front will lift across the area overnight into Wednesday. This will allow temps to warm to near 80 Wednesday afternoon. A strong cold front will bring the threat for strong to even severe storms Thursday. As of now, looks like the threat will be for the far eastern fringe of the area with damaging wind gusts the biggest concern, but it will be something to watch over the next few days. Rain chances return late in the weekend with another round of showers likely Saturday night into Sunday. Temps will remain seasonable with highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s.
