The Bright Spot: The Charlotte Fair
The Charlotte Fair at Charlotte Motor Speed Way in Concord is underway with fun for the entire family. There is the usual lineup of rides like the Ferris Wheel and tilt-a-whirl, but some new shows for the entire family to enjoy. DockDogs is a competition where dogs compete on a raised platform for height or distance into a pool of water. You can even sign your own furry friend up to take part in the competition. Lady Houdini, aka Kristen Johnson is known as the Houdini of the 21st century. She is a true escape artist who never uses a curtain for her acts so you know she is the real deal. She has even more than doubled Houdini’s record for escapes from the Water Torture Cell with 2743 attempts and counting. These shows along with the petting zoo are all free with admission.
$10 for adults, $5 for kids 5-11, under 4 are free
Tuesday – Thursday: 4pm – 10pm
Friday: 4pm – 11pm
Saturday: 11am – 11pm
Sunday: 1pm – 1opm
There are daily specials that benefit local charities, like $2 Tuesdays. If you bring in 2 cans or a bag of pet food, a leash, or toy you will receive a $2 admission with a $25 unlimited ride wristband. All proceeds go to the Cabarrus Animal Shelter. Kids under 11 are free with an adult admission ticket on Wednesdays and Thursdays all admission tickets are $5 with a $25 unlimited ride wristband.
