Late Day Warm-Up, Windy Night
Big temperature gradient today with a warm front that will be slowly lifting across the area. Temps will warm quickly south of I-85 after 4-5 pm with highs reaching the upper 60s. Areas across the foothills will remain cooler with temps in the upper 50s to lower 60s. Patchy drizzle will be possible. Ahead of a strong cold front that is bringing the threat of severe weather back to the south today, winds will gust 30-40 mph overnight. I would highly recommend bringing the lighter patio furniture and garbage cans in before bed tonight.
Rain and Storms Thursday
Rain and a storm or two will be possible early Thursday. The severe threat will be limited for the most part, but an isolated rogue storm can’t be totally ruled out with damaging wind gusts being the biggest threat. The good news is that the whole day won’t be a washout, with rain clearing by late afternoon at the latest.
Mild Weekend w/ Isolated Showers
Dry and mild leading into the weekend with temps in the upper 60s Friday and Saturday. Isolated rain chance late Saturday into Sunday. Temps warm next week with highs reaching the mid-70s by Tuesday w/ the return of rain to the region.
