Superlative Start to April, Watching for Midweek Storms

No fools' gold in the forecast here! Lovely weather sticks around through the weekend.

The great start to April continues. More clouds have built in this Saturday afternoon, but temperatures are settling nicely into the mid-60s in the Piedmont and Foothills. Abundant sunshine returns tomorrow, which will help many of us return to the 70s on Sunday. High pressure will continue its dominance over the East Coast through Monday but will loosen its grip on the region heading into Tuesday.

We’ll need to watch out for the arrival of a powerful cold front Tuesday night into Wednesday. The exact specifics and timing are still unclear, but strong storms are possible around the midweek timeframe. Our pattern remains unsettled through Thursday before more sunshine returns by next weekend. Highs in the 80s are possible on both Wednesday and Thursday.
