Messy Midweek Ahead

Potentially heavy showers and storms arrive on Tuesday, but an isolated severe threat opens up Wednesday night into Thursday.

Thanks to an area of southerly high pressure, a gorgeous day has welcomed us into the second half of the weekend. Temperatures are hovering in the upper 60s and lower 70s this Sunday afternoon in the Piedmont and Foothills, while the High Country settles for the lower 50s. Expect a similar day to unfold for our Monday. Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts! The next few days beyond will be messy at times.

A moisture-laden system will sweep in from the southwest by Tuesday afternoon, bringing heavy thundershowers well into the evening. While Tuesday will be more of a heavy rain threat, we’ll need to keep an eye out for strong storms Wednesday into Thursday. Temperatures will spike to near 80º Wednesday and Thursday before much cooler air arrives heading into next weekend.
