Troopers: Driver Killed Following Car Crash In Union County

UNION CO., S.C. — Troopers are investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision that occurred early Thursday morning in Union County.

Troopers say around 5:15 a.m. the driver of a 2019 Chevrolet SUV was heading south on S.C. Highway 215 near Rice’s Chapel Road when they lost control of their car, and traveled off the roadway to the left, striking a mailbox.

The driver was then transported to a local hospital where they later died, according to a news release.

The identity of the driver has not yet been released.
