Temperatures Flip the Script
We'll need to keep an eye on Thursday, but much of the week ahead will be fantastic.
We’re heading into the heart of spring, but it felt more like the dead of winter for many this morning. The Queen City woke up to a 31º low, coming within 3º of a record low and 20º below average. Fortunately for us, the chill’s stay is as short as it is harsh. Mostly sunny skies and a more favorable wind pattern out of the southwest will fuel a drastic warm-up back into the 80s for some on Monday. Most locations will crack the 80º mark both Tuesday and Wednesday, despite more clouds building in by midweek.
Another powerful, far-reaching system will find its way into the Carolinas by Thursday. The severe threat doesn’t look particularly high right now, but any storm warrants a closer look this time of year. Temperatures may cool a bit heading into next weekend behind the rain, but highs should remain near 70º. We’ll have to watch out for a second round of showers and storms by next Sunday.
