Discussion
It was a chilly weekend with temps Sunday morning falling below freezing for much of the area. The average last freeze of the year is March 31. The latest on record was May 2, 1963. Not as cold this morning with temps in the mid-40s near sunrise. Highs today will climb near 80 with sunny skies for the first half of the afternoon. Breezy with gusts of 20-25 mph. This along with relative humidity levels below 30% means an increased fire danger will be possible. Clouds fill in late afternoon with lows tonight falling into the mid-50s. More clouds tomorrow, but holding off on any rain chances until Thursday. Highs will reach the low 80s through Wednesday. A cold front will likely lead to more severe weather across the south this week with that boundary reaching us late Thursday. We’ll be watching for strong to severe storms Thursday afternoon and evening ahead of this system. Isolated rain chances will remain in the forecast through the weekend with temps in the mid to upper 70s.
