A Warm Wednesday With More Clouds
Isolated strong storms are possible Thursday
Discussion:
A ridge of high pressure off the southeast coast will keep temperatures well above average through Wednesday. A boundary hovering just north of us will continue to bring a slim isolated rain chance until rain chances increase on Thursday – this due to a cold front. This front will bring scattered showers and possible isolated strong storms to the east coast. The severe weather threat is low, but not zero.
Forecast:
Tonight: Partly cloudy. Low temperatures around 60 degrees.
Wednesday: It will be a repeat of Tuesday with a few more clouds. Partly sunny skies with high temperatures in the low 80s. Winds will be out of the S/SW at 10-20 mph.
Thursday: A cold front will bring showers and possible isolated strong storms to the area. There is a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) for severe storms on Thursday. Damaging wind gusts and isolated tornadoes are possible. Mostly cloudy skies with high temperatures in the upper 70s. Breezy with winds out of the SW at 10-20 mph.
Friday: Sunny and dry. High temperatures top out in the mid to upper 70s.
Easter Weekend: There is a chance for showers through Easter weekend, but nothing widespread. High temperatures top out near 80 degrees on Saturday with temperatures in the low 70s on Easter Sunday.
Notes:
– A moderate risk (level 4 of 5) is in place across Iowa today. Several tornadoes, a couple EF2+, widespread damaging wind gusts and very large hail are expected through tonight.
– A moderate risk (level 4 of 5) is in place for Wednesday stretching from northeastern Louisiana to southwest Indiana.
Have a wonderful week!
