LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after two different Dollar General stores were broken into over the weekend.
Deputies were dispatched to the Dollar General, located on Gastonia Highway, after receiving a burglar alarm call for an incident that happened at 11:10 p.m. on April 10. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found the left front glass door had been shattered.
When deputies checked inside the business, no one was located and determined that the suspect fled the area. Once at the scene, the store manager informed officers that she did not see anything that was missing.
According to a news release, deputies were dispatched again on April 11 at 1:30 p.m. after receiving a burglar alarm call at the Dollar General, located on East NC 150 Highway.
At the scene, officers found a shattered front door and empty cigarette cartons scattered around the floor.
The suspect got away with more than $100 worth of cigarettes, according to deputies. Damage to the door was placed at $1,500.
Investigation into the incident is active and ongoing.
