Edge On The Clock: The Simpsons To Feature Deaf Character For 1st Time

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Baskin-Robbins is getting a make-over. The ice cream chain is updating the brand with a new logo and employee uniforms. In addition to the new look, there are three new flavors that will be available for a limited time. This is the first major shift the company says it has made since 2006.

Plus, Mattel takes a step toward more environmentally-friendly toys. The company has released its carbon neutral products, made with recycled items. Mattel says all toys and packaging will be made from recycled or bio-based plastic materials by the end of the decade.

And, for the first time in the show’s 33 year history, a deaf actor will be featured on The Simpsons. In the episode, Lisa Simpson discovers her role model has a son who is deaf and needs a cochlear implant.
