CHARLOTTE, N.C. — RAIN AIDS WALK will be held in-person on Saturday, May 7th at the Wells Fargo Atrium & Plaza in Uptown Charlotte after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19.
Officials with RAIN say registration begins at 9 a.m. and the walk will begin at 11 a.m.
Chelsea Gulden, RAIN’s President & CEO says, “RAIN is thrilled to once again, host AIDS Walk Charlotte in person this year. It has been two long years without the fellowship of our community coming together to celebrate those who have gone before us and those currently living and thriving with HIV.”
Known as the largest HIV fundraising walk in the Carolinas, AIDS WALK Charlotte has raised $3.1 million since 1997 to support people living with HIV and those at risk.
Officials say every dollar raised stays in Charlotte to provide funds for services and programs that RAIN provides.
AIDS WALK Charlotte 2022 will be celebrating its 26th year of bringing the community together to remember those lost, to celebrate those who are living fully with HIV today, and to anticipate the end of HIV.
Officials say the event is intended to show compassion to those who lack full access to resources, health and wellness, and who suffer from HIV stigma.
Kids and pets are welcome to attend walk, roughly two miles, as the event is a family affair.
Participants are encouraged to register for the fundraising walk in advance by clicking here.
