ALBEMARLE, N.C. — Police say 35-year-old Shaun Prislusky was killed after an accidental shooting in Albemarle on Tuesday.
Officers responded to calls regarding gunshots around 2 p.m. on South First Street.
At the scene, officers located a man with a gunshot wound, later identified as Shaun Prislusky.
Prislusky was taken by helicopter to a local hospital for treatment following the shooting, where police say he later died.
An initial investigation revealed this was an accidental shooting and all parties involved have been identified.
Police say the gun was unintentionally discharged while being handled by a second party known to Prislusky.
The investigation into this case remains active and ongoing.
