One Dead, Another Arrested After Albemarle Shooting

ALBEMARLE, N.C. — One man is dead and another arrested after a fatal shooting in Albemarle Thursday afternoon, according to police.

The Albemarle Police Department responded to a Monza Drive home around 1 p.m. after a call for service. Upon arrival, officer found a man inside the home unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds.

The Stanly County EMS arrived at the scene and victim, identified as 33-year-old Benjamin Plyler, was pronounced dead.

Through an investigation, authorities identified the suspect in the case as 32-year-old Quinton Harris. The suspect was then arrested in Union County.

Police say Harris has been charged with first degree murder. He is now in the Stanly County Jail without bond.
