Boone Police: Motorcyclist Killed In Multi-Vehicle Collision

BOONE, N.C. — A multi-vehicle crash on NC Highway 105 in Boone on Thursday has resulted in the death of one person, according to Boone Police.

Boone Police, Boone Fire, and Watauga Medics responded to the collision involving three cars and two motorcycles at the intersection of NC Highway 105 and Snaggy Mountain Boulevard around 5 p.m.

Police say one motorcycle rider, later identified as 43-year-old Nicholas Dewinkeleer, died as a result of the collision.

Colin Bret Matthews, 29, was arrested and charged with Driving While Impaired, according to a news release.

Detectives say Matthews received a $100,000 bond pending a court appearance on May 20th, 2022.

The investigation into this incident is active and ongoing.
