Morganton Man Arrested For Trafficking Over $45,000 Worth Of Meth
CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. — A 40-year-old Morganton man was arrested for meth trafficking after over $45,000 worth of drugs were seized, deputies say.
Deputies say Ashley Butler was stopped while driving an Audi A6 near Realty Street in Lenoir around 12:30 p.m. on April 11. During the stop, a Lenoir Police K-9 alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle.
As a result of the search, officers located and seized around 280 grams of methamphetamine along with over $5,000 in cash. The vehicle was also seized.
The drugs seized during the investigation has a total street value of $45,000, according to North Carolina State Drug Guidelines.
Deputies say Butler was arrested and charged with multiple counts of trafficking in methamphetamine.
“We are continuing to be aggressive on our drug campaign, we are not letting up,” Caldwell County Sheriff Alan Jones says.
