Interim CMS Superintendent Hugh Hattabaugh Back On Campus

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg School district will see a familiar face back on campus Monday.

Hugh Hattabaugh started his career with CMS back in 2007 and served as interim superintendent in the 2011-2012 school year.

The school board voted to have him step back into the role last week after firing Earnest Winston saying change was needed to improve student outcomes.

Hattabaugh will hold the position until the end of June 2023 as the district looks for it’s sixth superintendent in the past decade.
