NC Attorney General Stein Tests Positive For COVID-19

RALEIGH, N.C. — North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein says he’s staying at home for awhile after testing positive for COVID-19.

Stein says he tested positive on Monday and was asymptomatic.

In a tweet, the second-term attorney general says he was fully vaccinated, with two boosters, and will be “lying low” and “working from home for a few days.”

Stein is considered a potential gubernatorial hopeful in 2024.

Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper can’t seek reelection due to term limits.
