Former North Carolina State Trooper Handed 21-Year Prison Sentence After Pleading Guilty To Drug Conspiracy

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The United States Attorney’s Office sentenced a former North Carolina state trooper to 21 years in prison for drug conspiracy, according to a news release.

Freddie Wayne Huff II was indicted in September of 2022 for conspiracy to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine hydrochloride, for distribution of 500 grams or more of cocaine hydrochloride and for possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense.

Huff was sentenced to 21 years on Tuesday, October 31st. He pleaded guilty to the conspiracy charge in February of this year.

On top of his prison time, he will also have to forfeit $500,000 in a money judgment.
