Mint Hill Officer Struck By Car While Directing Traffic

MATTHEWS, N.C. – A Mint Hill officer was struck by a car while directing traffic, according to a news release.

The release states that on Thursday, November 2, 2023, Matthews officers responded to a call that a Mint Hill officer was struck by a car in front of Mint Hill Middle School. The release further says that officer suffered significant injuries and was transported to the hospital.

Matthews police say 76-year-old Judith Kircher was driving the car and was charged with reckless driving and failure to obey officer.
