Attorney: Witness Proves Police Punched Woman In Face

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The woman who was punched at least 17 times by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers has been to a doctor, and does not have a brain injury or facial fractures. But the attorney for Christina Pierre says her “spirit is broken.” Witnesses recorded police hitting Pierre on Monday afternoon. CMPD says Pierre and Anthony Lee were smoking marijuana. Pierre’s attorney says she did not have marijuana.

The police also say Pierre hit an officer in the face first. Pierre’s attorney says that’s not true, and they have a witness to back it up. Attorney Lauren Newton says, “This eyewitness was brave enough to come forward and say what she saw. (And that) is that this officer hauled back and punched Ms. Pierre in the face, knocking her to the ground like a rag doll, before going down on top of her with a knee.”

Newton says her client a law abiding citizen.
