Lincoln County Man Charged With Animal Cruelty

LINCOLNTON, N.C. – A 41-year-old man in Lincoln County has been charged with animal cruelty after an executed search warrant on a Vale home found dead and malnourished livestock, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

Police charged Clayton Robert Tallent, the property owner, with two counts of felony cruelty to animals and two misdemeanor counts of allowing livestock to run at large.

Officers executed the search warrant on a property on Northbrook III School Road in Vale, North Carolina after allegedly receiving multiple complaints about livestock roaming freely. Tallent supposedly received multiple written civil citations and misdemeanor criminal charges.

The livestock has since been removed from the property.
