CALIFORNIA — Snoop Dogg says he is giving up smoking marijuana, according to a post on his Instagram account.

Snoop says in the post:

“After much consideration & conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke. Please respect my privacy at this time.”

WCCB has learned that searches for “quit weed” have skyrocketed 1,152% since Snoop Dogg’s announcement, according to Journo Research. Snoop Dogg also gained 59,413 followers in just 12 hours following the announcement on Instagram, according to Journo Research.

There is still no word on what promoted the post from one of the most popular entertainment artists in the world.
