One Dead After Early Morning Apartment Fire in East Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A Charlotte man died on Friday morning from a supposed careless smoking incident, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.

At approximately 5:30 a.m. on Friday, November 24th, firefighters responded to an apartment complex off Frontenac Avenue after receiving a call about a smoke odor indoors.

Upon arrival, firefighters noticed a unit at the apartment complex had signs of an extinguished fire.
