Structure Intentionally Set On Fire In East Charlotte, Causes $35K In Damages

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – An apartment complex building in east Charlotte was set on fire intentionally on Sunday morning, causing over $35,000 in damages, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.

CFD reported a fire on Woodbend Drive near Albemarle Road at approximately 5:43 a.m. on Sunday, November 26th. The fire caused a significant amount of damage, but no civilians or firefighters were reported injured.

CFD believes the fire was intentionally set near the exterior of a garage door.

Thirty Charlotte firefighters were dispatched and able to contain the fire in 13 minutes.
