Another below freezing night is on the way for tonight, but we will see warmer temperatures into the weekend as winds shift out of the south and west. Our next rainmaking system is currently developing east of the Rockies. Significant rain chances reach the Carolinas by Friday evening and last throughout the weekend, but the best opportunity for meaningful rainfall appears to lie on Saturday. Most locations in our area can expect up to a half-inch of rain to fall through Monday morning.
Welcomed rain of course as we are still in an exceptional drought across the Carolinas. Milder air works in with our temperatures reaching 50s and 60s this weekend. Drier air builds back in by Monday night as temperatures return to near-average values.
