ALBEMARLE, N.C. – A 28-year-old man from Albemarle was arrested and charged with identity theft after attempting to acquire insurance with another man’s information, according to the North Carolina Department of Insurance.
NCDOI special agents accuse Deandre Niko Holmes of allegedly using another man’s social security card and driver’s license to acquire renters’ insurance with State Farm Fire and Casualty Company. The crime was committed on March 13th.
Police arrested Holmes on November 7th with a $2,000 secured bond.
Holmes is charged with two felony counts of identity theft and obtaining property by false pretense.
