GASTONIA, N.C. – Calvin Moore, 38, is in custody and facing a felony charge of cruelty to animals, according to a news release.

The release states on November 28th, 2023, the Gaston County Police Department and Gaston County Animal Care & Enforcement responded to an anonymous tip regarding a domestic violence situation. The tip further said the situation led to the death of the family dog.
GCPD says detectives determined Moore killed a Siberian Husky mix after an investigation. The deceased dog was found buried at a different location.
Moore was arrested for outstanding charge and received a $20,000 bond and then a $100,000 bond on the new charge for felony cruelty to animals says the police.
This is an on-going investigation.
