CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A Charlotte man faces two federal charges for allegedly possessing a Glock switch, according to the United States Attorney’s Office.
Joshua Michael Jenkins, 20, was arrested on Thursday, November 30th and faces two charges for possession of a machinegun and possession of a firearm by a felon.
The charges against Jenkins stem from two incidents in 2022. On October 30th, 2022, records allege that Jenkins, a convicted felon, possessed a Glock model 23, .40 caliber pistol with an affixed machinegun conversion device, known as a glock switch.
On July 26th, 2022, records allege that Jenkins knowingly illegally possessed a Glock model 23, .40 caliber semiautomatic pistol.
Jenkins remains in federal custody. He faces a maximum statutory sentence of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for possessing a machinegun if convicted. He also faces 15 years and a $250,000 fine for possessing a firearm by a prohibited person if convicted.
