One Dead, One Injured In Car Crash Near Seneca

SENECA, S.C. – A car crash in Oconee County near Seneca killed one and sent another to the hospital on Saturday afternoon, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, December 2nd on Richland Road, just 2.7 miles west of Seneca.

Police say a 2007 Chevrolet two door vehicle was traveling north on Stribling Road. The driver attempted to turn onto Richland Road and was struck by a 1997 Dodge pickup truck.

Deputies say there were two occupants in the Chevrolet vehicle. The driver died as a result of their injuries. The passenger, meanwhile, was transported to a local hospital.

The severity of the passenger’s injuries remain unclear at this time.

Police say the Dodge driver was not injured and not transported to the hospital.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the collision. No further details have been released at this time.
