BEL AIR, M.D. – 37-year-old Gloria Hughes has been charged with first degree murder and child abuse of her three-year-old child, according to a media release.

At 5:25 a.m. on Sunday, December 3, Bel Air police officers state they responded to a call for cardiac arrest involving a child. The release says life saving measures started immediately and the child was transported to a nearby medical center and was pronounced dead at 6 a.m.
Police say they charged Hughes with homicide based on significant video evidence. A motive has yet to be determined by the police and the investigation remains active.
Hughes and her son are from Morganton, North Carolina.
