Multiple People Injured In Statesville Car Crash

STATESVILLE, N.C. – Multiple people were treated and taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries from a car crash in Statesville on Saturday morning.

The collision occurred on Shelton Avenue near West Raleigh Avenue at approximately 10:19 a.m. on Saturday, December 9th.

Police say a gray Honda Pilot traveling north on Shelton Avenue came to a stop to yield with the intention of turning into 1386 Shelton Avenue. Immediately after, a white Buick Enclave failed to slow down and collided with the Honda Pilot from behind as the driver attempted to make a left turn.

Officials say the initial crash caused the Honda driver to lose control before hitting two additional parked vehicles in the parking lot.

The Honda driver contained four adults and three children at the time of the collision. The three children and their mother were transported to Brenner Children’s Hospital. The Buick driver, two adults and an 18-month-old child were taken to Iredell Memorial Hospital for medical treatment and care.

Officials say everyone involved in this collision sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.
