Suspect Charged With Murder In Connection To Fatal Shooting In West Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A suspect has been placed in custody and charged with murder in connection to a deadly shooting that occurred on Saturday morning.

Around 4 a.m. on Saturday, November 9th, police stationed on Camp Greene Street heard gunshots fired in the area. Shortly after, officers located a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim, later identified as 52-year-old Rodney Hamilton, died at a local hospital.

Following an investigation, the suspect, Jamar Demontae Davis, was located and taken into custody shortly after the incident.

Davis, 37, remains in custody with the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. He has been charged with murder.
