Hornets’ Miles Bridges Denied Access Into Canada As Team Set To Play Toronto Raptors

TORONTO, CANADA — Hornets’ forward Miles Bridges was denied access into Canada as the team traveled to play against the Raptors Sunday night, according to league sources. His status for tonight’s game is up in the air.

Canada is known for not allowing people with a criminal history into the country. Several hip-hop artists and other celebrities have been denied entry into the country over the last several years.

League sources say the Hornets are working with officials to get Bridges into the country and on the playing court.

Bridges pleaded no contest to a felony domestic abuse charge last year. It was in reference to an incident that happened with his girlfriend and the mother of his children. Two other felony charges were dropped, according to court records.

Bridges was sentenced to three years of probation and did not receive any jail time. Bridges missed the entire 2022-2023 season and the first 10 games of the current season due to the situation. He was then arrested again in Lincoln County after authorities say he violated a protective order and for child abuse. That case is still pending.
