CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation after a woman reportedly died after being stabbed in southwest Charlotte.
Shortly after 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 23rd, officers responded to a service call on Hermsley Road in Steele Creek related to an assault with a deadly weapon.
Upon arrival, officers say they discovered a female victim suffering from life-threatening stab wounds. Charlotte Fire and MEDIC arrived to provide medical aid for the victim but pronounced her dead at the scene.
The male suspect was spotted near the crime scene, and police put him in custody, according to a news release. Police say this incident could be related to a domestic violence incident.
