CHARLOTTE, N.C. β Bryce Young has been nominated as the FedEx Air Player of the Week after his week 16 performance. Young completed 63.9 percent of his passes for 312 yards and two touchdowns. Although the game ended in a three point loss, Young earned a 110.0 passer rating. The rookie quarterback is the first to be nominated for the award since Sam Darnold in week 17 of the 2022 season.
Young joins two Super Bowl winning quarterbacks who were also nominated for the award this week, in Joe Flacco and Matthew Stafford. The FedEx Air Player of the Week is awarded weekly to the player with the best passing performance, as voted by the fans. Bryce Young’s performance in week 16 is a sign of improvement that Panthers fans have been looking for throughout the year.
