Wanted Suspect Arrested, Facing 240-Plus Charges In Connection To 184 Vehicle Break-Ins Across Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Hannah Freeman, one of the suspects connected to the 184 vehicle break-ins in Charlotte earlier this month, has been arrested and faces more than 240 charges.
She was put into custody on Tuesday, December 26th at approximately 9:51 p.m.
Freeman faces 249 total charges from her role in the vehicle break-ins, including larceny, breaking and entering and conspiracy.
On December 20th, police identified Freeman, 19, as a suspect wanted in connection to this case. Police attempted to serve an outstanding warrant against her before she fled and eluded arrest at a high rate of speed in a stolen motor vehicle.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Police have arrested and charged a male juvenile in relation to 184 vehicle break-ins in Charlotte across the past week. Two additional suspects are wanted in connection to this case.
Police say the male juvenile suspect was accompanied by his mother when he voluntarily turned himself in on Tuesday, December 19th. He was charged with auto-theft, breaking into a motor vehicle, larceny after breaking into a motor vehicle and conspiracy.
Police initially responded to a call regarding larceny of a motor vehicle off Sharon Road near SouthPark Mall on Thursday, December 14th at approximately 1:30 a.m. Police say they spotted multiple vehicles broken into with items stolen upon arrival.
Following the initial call, officers were alerted to larceny of a motor vehicle at six separate locations later that same day. In total, 84 vehicles were broken into on Thursday, December 14th.

- 4400 Sharon Road – 5 vehicles
- 800 Cherokee Road – 26 vehicles
- 4300 Sharon Road – 18 vehicles
- 2410 Roswell Avenue – 17 vehicles
- 4870 Cameron Valley Parkway – 2 vehicles
- 1530 Queens Road – 9 vehicles
- 2100 Queens Road West – 7 vehicles
In addition to the 84 break-ins, detectives say the suspects broke into an additional 100 vehicles on Kenilworth Avenue near East Boulevard in the early morning hours on Monday, December 18th.

- 1525 Kenilworth Avenue – 92 vehicles
- 1010 Kenilworth Avenue – 8 vehicles
As a result of the investigation, detectives identified one wanted suspect and attempted to serve outstanding warrants against her. However, police say she fled and eluded arrest at a high rate of speed in a motor vehicle.
Hannah Jayna Freeman, 19, will face over 100 criminal violations in connection to this case, according to police.
This case remains an active and ongoing investigation. Police say additional charges are pending.
